I've not answered it because it was loaded as you well know. I'm not asking you to read every post going back 5 years, I said any post on the subject from within 5 years. Not sure why you have chosen not to, other than it being easier to make an implication in the hope of getting me to perform like a trained monkey and give a controversial answer.

I asked you what your views were on homosexuality and you nearly wet yourself. I'm sorry I asked. Seriously, you're being paranoid .

If you read the thread Hugh, you will see that Russ was unhappy with my initial question so I asked him a different one:

Re: Ireland votes on Gay Marriage
Hmm! So we finally have equality for practically everyone and still we argue about the rights and wrongs of those equalities..
There are still plenty of issues in the world to deal with so why are we still hung up on those issues we have made decisions about?

Re: Ireland votes on Gay Marriage
With half a dozen mods in this thread, equality is a moot point .
I have learnt recently that there are times when controversy just has to be shoved back into the closet.

We don't have equality, the vast majority can't have a civil partnership

Discrimination is discrimination, we're either after equality for all or we might as well have not bothered imo

What are my views on homosexuality? I don't have any and consider there to be far more important matters to be worried about in life.
At work we are all to carry our ID cards with us and a few months ago I found the card of one of my colleagues near a wash basin in the toilets. I sent a jokey department-wide email saying if the guy would make the tea for the rest of the day I'd return the card that I'd found in the toilets.
Later his team manager dropped by and I gave it to him to pass on to it's owner. The manager did a bit of an embarrassed smirk regarding my comment that the ID badge "of a gay man" being found in the toilets. I gave some sort of joke response but a) I had no idea he was gay b) it's not something I care about or try to analyse when I meet someone and c)...there is no 'c'. His sexual preferences are as irrelevant to me as the colour of his hair, his favourite food etc
In terms of someone's preferences, if it ever did become a public matter I consider monogamy and loyalty far more important than who a person is attracted to.

Objectively speaking do you really feel disadvantaged at that? Is there anything tangible you feel you've ever felt denied at not being allowed a civil partnership whilst being allowed to marry?
This reminds me of the pre-Obama days, Chris Rock did this routine where a white guy said to him "It's not fair, black people can say N***er, if we say it we'd get arrested". Rock replied to him "Ok let's change things around. You can say N***er, we can change interest rates".

I don't feel disadvantaged but then I didn't feel disadvantaged that gay people couldn't get married either and I've just provided links to plenty of people that do feel disadvantaged, you think their views or feelings don't count or something.
