We could hope that people take heed of their driving lessons and not drive irresponsibly but even with the law as a deterrent, people still speed, drink drive and otherwise endanger others.
In this case, the majority of people voting are not directly affected by this law. People can still get married as normal, just now more people have that right. Yes, some people may not like it, but hey, they still have the right to complain about it!

Nobody (as far as I know) is 'hoping' an issue will go away. And driving lessons are as much for the safety of the drivers as for other road users, not a viable comparison.

You think that organised religion is the root cause of many of the evils committed in the world and you use scripture to support your opinion.
My question also relates to scripture and seeks a clarification of Russ's view.

I haven't called anything an abomination so I won't be answering it.

Re: Ireland votes on Gay Marriage
By all means ask for them, just don't put words in my mouth or ask me loaded questions.

Re: Ireland votes on Gay Marriage
I have tried following the last few pages but I have absolutely no idea what's going on. Shall we try and find the topic again?

Re: Ireland votes on Gay Marriage
I'll tell you but seeing as you're calling the shots why not first tell me what you think they are, based on my posting history say over the past 5 years on the subject?

Re: Ireland votes on Gay Marriage
I honestly have no idea and the research seems unnecessary. Oh never mind Russ, I withdraw the question.
I don't understand the defensiveness, you're usually pretty forthcoming with your views.

The reason is simple. You, like many others use parts of scripture to further your own agenda, in this case why a democratic vote allowing equality of treatment of marriage is a bad thing yet ignore others that directly contradict them.

If you'd paid attention to anything I'd posted about it before instead of using prejudice and assumption you'd get your answer. But still, checking facts is too time consuming and "unnecessary" eh? Easier to imply and infer.

I have not attempted to further an 'agenda'. I asked another forum member for their views in a question? You seem to be reading (badly) between the lines.

It may come as a surprise to you but your every word is not something I read. I haven't implied or inferred anything either; I asked you a question which you have chosen not to answer which is fine. I'm not sure why you're so reluctant to answer but there we go.
