Re: Ntl to reduce upload speed on 10mb
20 meg will not have the 1 meg upload if they are indeed changeing the upload to a pathetic 384k it will be the 768 they started with, great

Re: Ntl to reduce upload speed on 10mb
I have had poor upload speed for the last couple of weeks and just checked my speeds for the 10 meg service and got:-
Download 9.83Mbps
Upload 349Kbps
From my viewpoint it is clear that the upload speed has been capped at about 350 Kbps for a few weeks now!!!

I am on NTL 4Mb broadband and the modem config now says
Upload Speed (Kbps) 384 so it is not a typo.

Re: Ntl to reduce upload speed on 10mb
If I were at ntl towers, I wouldn't have tiered packages on the download side but on the upload instead.
It seems that it's the upload speeds that causes most problems for ntl's netwoek. So, why not have diffrent packages based soley on upload speed? Everyone could, network permitting, all download at 10mb. But, everyone would be on diffrent upload packages depending on what you use and prepared to pay.
Plus, if ntl ever do bring out their legal p2p services, it would be another way to make money out of the downloaders. Don't get charged for what you download, but what you upload. No uploads, no downloads...

Re: Ntl to reduce upload speed on 10mb
The upload for 2mbit has increased to 256 (Kbps) on this webpage so i'd say it's not a typo either!
2Mb broadband Upload Speed (Kbps) 256
4Mb broadband Upload Speed (Kbps) 384
10Mb broadband Upload Speed (Kbps) 384
Let's hope its just a trial and they won't lower the uploads.
Just rebooted my modem and i haven't been downgraded yet.

Re: Ntl to reduce upload speed on 10mb
Is this true?
Yes i have turned up again for this.
I am on 10mb and I game alot on Battlefield 2142, and my partner uses MSN and Yahoo and some chatrooms, my ping then is about 70 or 80, without her using the net I drop to about 20-40.
Now your going to drop my upload on 10mb? let me tell you now NTL you do this and that £35 per month will be shoved so far up your **** you will be spitting my sacm from your nasal passages.
I expect at least 512k upload on 10mb and I will not pay more to you to get more you thieving robbing swines, your network is falling to pieces and your talking about 20mb?
Sort your network out and listen to the customers not your accountants.
