D-Link Wireless ADSL Router (RJ11 Port) - Connection to ntl branded modem (RJ15 Port)

I just bought a D-Link DSL-G604T wireless router. As the name suggests this product is primarily designed for DSL customers. However, I was assured that I would have no difficulty connecting it to my (blue semi-tranparent) ntl branded cable modem.

The rear of the D-Link unit has a RJ11 ADSL port and four RJ15 LAN Ports (see image).

My question is how do I supply the ntl cable service from the ntl cable modem to the D-Link router? The ntl cable modem unit has a RJ15 ethernet cable port but the D-Link router has a RJ11 DSL port.

I'm pretty new to this sort of thing so any assistance or direction will be greatly appreciated.

Take it back. Whoever told you it was suitable for connection to a cable modem was talking out of their proverbial. You need a router which does NOT have a built-in ADSL modem, as you are using an external CABLE modem.

Many thanks for your help. Not the answer I had hoped for but at least I know now. Can you reccomend a suitable alternative that would be appropriate?
