Hi,
For the last few months, we've geen getting some iffy connections to out broadband.
Take today for instance - and the same think reguarly happens:
Router is synced at: DSL Up : 2176 kbps / 448 kbps
Speedtest: Download: .72Mbps... (Yes you read that right...)
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1400221471.png
Tomorrow when I do another speedtest it'll be back to around 1.85Mbps which is about the fastest we get.
So far I've done:
Router in test socket / and bypassed any extensions
Changed the filter - and changed all filters
Line noise test - yes there is a very tiny bit of static but I've heard worse on a DSL connection
BT Speedtest:
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Download Speed: 675 Kbps
Download speedachieved during the test was - 675 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 200-1000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :2112 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 750 Kbps
So far the ISP has blamed: the line, the filters, the router, the noise on the line.
One other thing - this never used to happen with our previous provider.
The connection is a ADSL 8Mb business connection so I think the contention is 20:1 not 50:1 like a standard consumer account.
Any advice on getting this resolved as it's really starting to get annoying.
