I did have it a while back its held its value quite well. There are hordes of good high spec boards though. I like the 975x chipset on the grounds it just works with quad and should hopefully work with the Penryns as it does have some good voltage options(although im not sure about the fsb)
my E6600 clocks to 2.86 gig on 1.4 volts before the fan kicks in to higher speed (to loud for general use) and will run quite happily at 3 gig+ with these settings and true core temps are constantly around 65 degrees (true core temps not normal ones quoted which isnt a core sensor really) new Noctua HSF coming tomorrow so I push it more then
