I tend to personally disable all other Wireless software and let Windows manage my connection, I realise that this probably doesn't help you right this moment, but it might do in future
Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools
In there you'll find a Services type shortcut (it's removed by our IS lot on these work machines so I can't be more specific ). Open that and look for the Wireless Zero Config service - it's probably set to Manual but you should be able to set it to Automatic.
