I noticed when calling CS that the music/adverts that play while you wait to get through has an advert for http://www.ntl.com/football - however, the message on the phone says its for customers who get a 600k or 1Mb broadband connection.

Now, I thought "you can't get a 600k line anymore" so looked up the URL which says its for people on the 2Mb or 3Mb connections so it appears the message on the phones is incorrect.

I forgot to mention it on the phone to CS, so am posting it here as the next best thing

the music when calling cs is bad as well so out of tune i can sing better then it .

The whole ntl.com site is giving me the message (when clicking on any of the links on the homepage):

"Thanks for your visit. We are currently upgrading this site.

Full service will be restored shortly.

Sorry for any inconvenience. "

Oh well...

I thought the web site upgrade had already been completed. Seems they can't even provide them selves a good service any more

Hmm, works for me both at home and at work.
The URL I gave (which is the one quoted on the phone system) forwards me to http://www.home.ntl.com/page/football

And I agree... the music is pretty awful, it sticks in your mind for hours afterwards too

I'd rather listen to the humming of the phone than the NTL music.
In fact, I wish the NTL staff were trained to sing to us whilst we wait.
Or maybe not.
A good thing would be for the user to choose. eg. Press 1 for house music, press 2 for jazz, etc.

Press 1 for accounts - Money - Pink Floyd
Press 2 for Refunds - Lovely Day - Bill Withers

I called again yesterday and it seems to be fixed now - says 2Mb or 3Mb like it should do
