Router

Please help me people!
I have a very high pings no matter where in my computer, but in computer in school they're low.
I will give the data:
My PC:
Proccesor: Intel(R) Pentium 4 2.66 GHZ
Mother board: Intel® Desktop Boards D845GVSR (no video card slot)
Video card: Intel® 82845G (fused to mother board)
Router: EDIMAX Boardband Router BR-6104s/k
Intertnet(Modem): PPPoE 1.5 Mbitps "WOW" (bezeqint israel)(used by 2 users via router)
GOOGLE Ping: Average RRT: 695 ms (Ping)
School PC:
Intel(R) Pentium 2 0.357 GHZ
Video card: 32 Mb
Intertnet(Modem): All PC's 180 kbitps
GOOGLE Ping: Average RRT: 114 ms (Ping)

PLEASE HELP!

If you're in Israel like you say you are a 114ms ping is pretty good for a server hosted in California.

What firmware is the router?
The BR6104K has an update available, 3.15, though the history of the router in PPOE mode is rather chequered.

There may also be several ways to configure a router and a modem - either the modem manages everything (and if the modem also supports NAT routing itself, then a hub would be better than a router), or the router controls the modem by PPOE - It depends if the modem is smart enough for the former, or if it would require a PPOE setup on the PC, then the latter case (router handles it) is the way it must be.

When the router is of the modem does ping of 110ms - 120msin google.ru (216.239.37.99).

Thank you for help! I uptaded the firmware to 3.15 and internet is super fast now!!! The ping is 147ms.
