As has been said, it’s excellent for credit ratings - our score in Equifax is 987/1000…

Now you have started something!
My TransUnion is 683/710, this is what I get for putting everything on Credit Card and paying in full each month's statement.

That’s a great score - mine (on that) is 673/710…
(apparently changing Energy supplier in August negatively impacted my score)

Increasing my credit limit and spending a lot more on it one month negatively impacted mine a few point as well, even though I paid it off in full on time.
Apparently we're on the old legacy scoring system with TransUnion, this is the new one and roll out begins September 2026.

Re: What have you just bought?
I can live with "excellent"…
(SWMBO wants a couple of new powered recliner Parker Knoll sofas, and that makes interest free credit easier to get..)

everyone hows one unless you never borrowed anything or set up a contract anywhere for a lot of day to day items
I also think there is a good chance you are on it if you are on the electoral register too

I think we're safe anyway Itshim, even if I wanted to borrow £50k repayable over 10 years I wouldn't find anyone to go for it . . . unless of course they had half the house as a bond

I dare say I do have one, but no idea what it would be considering that I haven’t borrowed any money for twenty years or more and paid off my mortgage fifteen years ago.

every entry resets after 6 years but you will have no strikes against it so it will not be bad

If you have a banking app on your phone then it is often in the options to check and it takes seconds, it lets me check mine once a month although I don't really need to, I just decided to take a look for the first time a few months back.
