Re: What a surprise

I'm with Lebara, £5 a month for unlimited calls and texts, with 5Gb of data which barely ever gets used as I am always near wi-fi and when I am not I am just careful with my data usage.

I typically get a decent 5G signal and for my ZTE U30 Air 5G Mobile Modem/Router combo unit, I can go on Amazon and get a 30 day unlimited data sim for anything from £12.50 to £25 from Lebara, so should I need it, I have options.

The last time I had a mobile contract it was with EE, and whilst they are typically not bad, the customer service etc has over the last few years pushed me away from them.

Most of the companies are charging prices for tariffs that are extortionate, they say it's so they can "upgrade" the network, but once the fibre is in the ground, they have a small fee each month depending on provider for "rental/maintenance" depends on the contract, and then they can put again depending on contract anything they want down that fibre at any speed they want, as long as they put the equipment on the end of it.

The price of data plans in this country is a scam and our toothless regulators and spineless governments fail to do anything about it.
