I wish for us older tech guys they just called the ONT a modem which technically it is just a fibre modem instead of a DSL modem or a Coaxial Modem. Remember years ago when you got sent a USB Modem by Openreach suppliers? and had to set up an AD Hoc network because you could not connect it to router? (I also know technically it does not need to modulate and demodulate because it is digital to digital but it still converts light to electrical and back again )

Someone has fitted an empty green cabinet on my road next to our cable cabinet. I had a look inside, there's two circular ducting into the ground nothing yet fitted or pulled.

Anything show up on here?

Open reach just used their existing green cabinets when installing FTTP in my village.

Nope nothing new. I thought they were doing water works so I didn't bother going out when they were here but I'll now keep an eye on it.
Strange fitting though. The cable cabinet next to it is on the grass. This new cabinet is on the actual pavement. Not exactly safe fitting

I'm on private land according to their online checker
OpenReach are the ones that have coming soon this year for FTTP on their site checker
A VM rep who knocked the door a month or so ago said I won't be wired up being in a flat. "I've been in this game for x amount of years they won't pull a cable to you" lol I just kindly said ok I'll wait and see.

Do you own the flat? It's annoying no one would cable you up, I wouldn't want to live somewhere so restricted, atleast you have mobile internet where I can't get it here.

When you see openreach all over your street you know it'll be soon, don't wait for letters selling it use that site weekly until you see it's live and hopefully you can get it unless you need permission from the council, I guess you will need permission and a wayleave., good luck!

Re: FTTP who to buy it from - Recommendations please
There's a communal cupboard that has the open reach copper in which then feeds each property. Gaining entrance to that cupboard is a pain. I don't have the key. VM cables are pulled up the side of the building to each property.
