FTTP who to buy it from - recommendations please

FTTP is finally available in my area!

For anyone who has experience with buying this please recommend a company to get it from, I want someone who isn't going to cause me grief if I use IPTV services etc(I want no limitations) and get the best kit.

Sky do not tell you how much it is going to go up in April so you can get out of a contract/use this to keep the cost down after April or move to another deal. Remember your cashbacks and promos you could make on it haha

Also is it openreach or cityfibre someone else?

City fibre layed the cables but according to this site where I've been tracking it all Openreach is now LIVE, so I've got a good list of providers if I click on the city fibre link, I've clicked on Zen, Cuckoo and Sky and they say it's available, I'm likely to order in the New Year due to no holiday left at work.

https://bidb.uk/

Looking forward to ditching very expensive Virginmedia as I've not had the courage to renegotiate the contract as I hate the stress of phoning up so it'll be good to ditch everything I have here and save a fortune.

Re: your concern streaming. I've read in various places that smaller reputable providers would be the best bet as they haven't yet sold their souls. Throttling is common amongst the big named providers. VPN can get around this.

Provider provided security can be turned off but a VPN gets around it.

Thanks, I'm hoping this isn't going to be an issue when I set parents up with IPTV at Christmas but I'll give them my NordVPN too.

Re: FTTP who to buy it from - recommendations please

I'd run a VPN regardless if you have one avoiding all kinds of bullshit.

Nord app on fire stick has been crashing for me when setting up auto connect to a specific server. I had to choose one from the main screen then go settings auto connect to recently used server not from the huge list. Also Nord tends to hang on connecting but is really connected. Download analiti for confirmation.

I'm not sure how you're set up. The hubs WiFi doesn't play ball all too well. It's advised to split wifi bands then connecting to 5GHz.

BT have a policy on NO throttling.

I've never had any issues with NordVPN or my Firestick and it's all connected via WiFi 5ghz.

Nord is by far the superior VPN I too use it no issue just some bugs that don't really have a bearing on its main purpose so no bother
