maybe a bios update needed when jaytwocents on youtube had the m.2 missing drive he updated bios and fixed it even though he blamed a windows update at first

Re: Windows 11 25H2 officially released

I know some people seem to be having luck by turning off VMD in the bios on Intel Systems and on AMD if they suffer by turning off SMV if enabled, then plugging in a Windows installer pen drive, using the "Repair" function and then turning the setting back on.

Still something weird is happening and I wouldn't be shocked if it was Microsoft's fault.

Re: Windows 11 25H2 officially released

Trying to get an answer off crucial as to what the score is with the M.2 issue as I have 4x4TB P3 Plus drives in my PC with the controller that has the issue and it is like £1000 worth of drives really do not want to risk issues even though a reboot appears to fix it .

Re: Windows 11 25H2 officially released

Well fingers crossed it goes ok because 25h2 has just started installing via windows update on my pc.

If it causes an issue though, I will just bring forward my move to Windows 11 Enterprise.

Edit

5 minutes later and it is installed with no issues, went a lot faster than I was expecting given it normally takes 30 minutes or longer for these updates.

Re: Windows 11 25H2 officially released

Few things I have spotted so far which only happened after a few reboots after installing the update:

1: Microsoft have changed the default internet browser back to Edge without permission

2: Reinstalled Microsoft Teams even when uninstalled

3: Reinstalled applications removed via tweak tools

4: Changed the power profile of the pc from AMD Power Profile to a "Eco Friendly" one

5: Changed my DNS back to Google instead of my Pihole

6: Forced my One Drive account to now be used to sign into Windows, Edge, Xbox and other stuff where "they see fit" for it to be used, and it has deleted my local account as well as all saved files in the documents folder etc that had not been backed up.

7: Removed my Google Account for my music channels on YouTube in Edge and replaced it with my Google Account I have attached to Chrome and One Drive.

8: Removed Firefox and Chrome from being pinned to the taskbar

9: Reinstalled One Note and Sticky Notes

10: Removed the drive mappings from Unraid server

So this weekend I need to do some stuff at my grandads house, and then once done, I am ripping Windows 11 Pro off my 2 main pc's and both are going to Enterprise.

After reading that list I'm certainly not upgrading . . and may well be rooting out the old Win 7 disc

Re: Windows 11 25H2 officially released

I hear there's many W10 and W11 users trying out Linux Zorin 18 OS. You can run it from a pen drive to test it before taking the leap and installing it over your existing OS.
