If PTSD is going to be used as a defence, this could open up a whole world of issues going forward. PTSD could be used as a mitigation by pretty much any crime committed by a refugee

Mitigation isn't a defence, it may reduce the sentence but it doesn't absolve you of guilt and it won't prevent prison sentence

It’s the same as for alcohol, the idea being how much needs to be present to impair driving. Diazepam or methadone will not help your driving skills even though being perfectly legal
