Re: Partygate 2: New investigation launched June 2023
And a new investigation is launched today! No 10 really has been a a drain on our hard-pressed police service.
Quote:
In a press release, the force said: "The Met is now re-opening an investigation into potential breaches of the regulations at an event in Matthew Parker Street on 14 December 2020."
That December date is the same day that footage was taken showing workers on Shaun Bailey's 2021 London mayoral campaign dancing and mingling while the capital was in Tier 2 of COVID restrictions.
They added: "Following assessment of material relating to a gathering in Parliament, the Met is opening an investigation into potential breaches of the Regulations at an event on 8 December 2020."
The Metropolitan Police has previously issued 126 Fixed Penalty Notice (FPNs) referrals following an investigation into claims of Covid rule breaching parties at Downing Street and Whitehall.

Oh wonderful, a Covid thread. Most Political Parties broke the stupid rules for what is essentially just a cold.

Bit of a nasty cold to cause 228,000 deaths in the UK.

They did not die of just Covid.
Of which most of those has other major ailments, being a contributing factor. We all know how those deaths were recorded, they could have been knocked down, if they tested positive over a certain period, Covid was put on Death certificates.
Colds can kill people. It was a cold, I caught Covid 6 times, 3 before any jabs. I’ve had colds worse than Covid.

By that logic why prosecute anyone where food and drink were served? Unless of course it's the gathering itself that's the problem then work through all events reported equitably. Even those without high profile attendees.
This whole thing is getting a bit tedious.

So life expectancy in the UK which has been increasing for decades, has declined last few years. Is that a clue that it was more than a 'cold'?

It was declining not because of Covid. You do know there are thousands of other serious medical complications?

That doesn’t mean it’s not relevant or not just as important. Of course, if it’s Labour people misbehaving, you would always want to be quiet about it. A little balance wouldn’t go amiss, although I know I stand to be disappointed.

More like flu, I’d say.

I agree. This whole thing has been ridiculously hyped up for political advantage.

You mean because of 13 years of the Tories running the NHS into the ground, increasing levels of poverty and the country generally going backwards? Yes, all contributory factors to lower life expectancies.

It was Covid that ran the NHS into the ground, although I know you would prefer to believe otherwise.

Absolute rubbish as its very convenient for the government to blame covid for everything as there has been a huge funding gap since 2010 onwards and severe austerity cuts into the bargain as well.

I think you'll find it's been going downhill since 2010. What happened then I wonder?

what’s actually frightening is you believe that and have a vote equal to everyone else’s (FPTP aside) in an election.
An utterly deranged fantasy.
Foreign agents must be rubbing their hands that the brightest young minds in CCHQ - the governing party in all but thirteen of the last forty-five years are stupid enough to break the law, on camera, with an audit trail.
These idiots would pay out a far greater return than Farage’s bank account.
