Partygate 2: New investigation launched June 2023

Wasn't there an 80s song about this by The Associates? ;)
Yes, here it is.

Met Police launch new Partygate investigation into Downing Street and Chequers gatherings

Scotland Yard announced that it was “assessing information and new material” over events in 2020 and 2021 on Monday, shortly before parliament debated a report sanctioning Mr Johnson for misleading parliament over the parties.

Its previous Partygate investigation saw 83 people, including the former prime minister and his successor Rishi Sunak, given a total of 126 fines.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “A number of other events have subsequently been referred to us which we are in the process of assessing.”

Convenient timing for this to leak distracting from the Boris vote of shame.

Personally, I think it's to distract the media from the honours list. I mean, what could one young girl working for Boris have done in a 2 year career that would warrant a peerage? I suspect I know, but Carrie might not be happy with the answer.

you cannot comprehend the enormity of the MOD EDIT I don't give about this.

Using language that invokes the Site "swear filter", or using asterisks to avoid the Site "swear filter", is against Site T&Cs.

Repetition of this behaviour will invoke the Infraction System.

I don't think the police time is worth going after staffers several years on. There is still some argument to be made that you should go after the politicians who wrote the laws they're breaking but as a political event people know Johnson & Co lied, they've made their minds up and it brought down Johnson as well as derailed the Government.

Here’s the first minister of wales breaking his own lockdown rules at the time at a packed Diwali party.

You know the man whose rules were so Draconian and insane he cling-filmed supermarket aisles.

Anyone calling for his head? He’s still In charge - labour saying nothing.

Do you mean he was breaking the lockdown rules in Wales at the time which stated -

"Face coverings are not required in premises where food and drink is served'.

The advice says: 'This is because the purpose of attending those places is to eat and drink, for which a face covering is not practical and, therefore, not required.'

At least if you are reading and regurgitating Sophie Corcoran’s views on anything it confirms you’ve given up caring.
