Re: Completely hacked off :(
How about calling BT and getting a second line installed (ASAP). It will cost you a bit, but could minimise the downtime?

Re: Completely hacked off :(
Could you get a second line put in and have ADSL on that any quicker?
Have you tried the high ups in Wanadoo and told them that they will lose a customer if the problem isn't sorted?
Have you tried to contact BT to see if they can do anything?
Have you got a friend with a fast connection thats willing to have a lodger for a couple of weeks?

It's coming up to christmas, the chances of getting an engineer within the next week are slim, it'd cost me £75 to have a line installed, then another 7-14 day's to get ADSL

Only contactable by letter, which has already been sent, but I don't expect a response.

Not yet, didn't find out until Wanadoo emailed me the account cancellation notice this evening.

Yes, but it's not going to happen, I'm not lodging at someone's house coming up to christmas, in fact, I have my own house and I'm not lodging at anyone's unless her indoors chucks me out.

I know, but you can always try. As you're suggesting you may loose you job, £75 sounds like a small amount to pay for this not happening. If BT can get an engineer out promptly, you might be back up early Jan.

I'll be back up round about early january anyway, but I need access from the end of the week up until that point.

I have been told by another ADSL MD that cease takes 7 days so if it is to cease on the 30th Dec then it hasn't been sent yet. Also he has managed to get a cease for someone stopped with his supplier on the last day before. You can stop a cease order a couple of days after it has been ordered with BT but it should be stoppable on the 24th if to cease on 30th. Tell them to stop it and give you the mac so you can migrate.

Re: Completely hacked off :(
Sorry to bring this up again but any idea what the outcome was? I did post on the BT forum but they replied rather late and couldn't do much!
