Completely hacked off :(

I got an email from Wanadoo today saying that they've cancelled my ADSL account, something I NEVER requested. I called them up about it and was told that the account will cease in a few days, the cease on the line has been sent to BT and will happen on the 30th and even though it was a mistake on their behalf there's nothing they can or will do about it. I work from home and need broadband but because of their cock up I'm going to lose my ADSL early next week and won't be able to get a new account installed until next year because they apparently can't contact BT and stop the cease.

Does anyone know anything I can do about this? Or anyone I can contact?

I was wondering if it was possible for me to contact BT and get the line ceased earlier (or something) so I can spend the xmas period without broadband and be up and running after the holidays.

Re: Completely hacked off :(

You could try phoning OFCOM on 0845 456 3000.
Also, see this page:
http://www.ofcom.org.uk/contact_ofcom/tel_issues/

I can't believe the situation you're in, why did you leave Nildram in the first place dude?

You could try Russ because he works for BT TS but going by the experience I had when I worked for them, he won't be able to help much.

That's not going to get me ADSL any quicker, I still have to wait for the cease line on the 30th and then another 1-2 weeks for an install, which also means I'll lose my job, not that wanadoo are interested because "they don't support business use".

Re: Completely hacked off :(

FYI SB: Pipex now own Nildram, sadly...

Bif: Call Nildram or some other decent ISP and see what they can do for you, most likely they'll be more than happy to take you on.

Re: Completely hacked off :(

That's just it, they can't "take me on" until the line has been ceased and reprovided, and that's not until the 30th of December.

Not that it helps your ' home use ' and I don't know what sort of acess you need for buisness but isn't there a neigbour or friend that could see you through

kinda, " can i borrow a cup of " type thing..... failing that how about your library ? ours has BB, would that help ?

I'm a web developer, I can't use a library, I can't ask a neighbour either, one of them is nearly 90 and disabled and the other is actually older.

No, I'm in constant contact with customers via email all day, as well as my boss via MSN, I upload files on average 100's of times a day, just not practical in the slightest.

I'm sure your boss will understand Bif, but if there is anything I (or any of us) can do to help just let us know.

Unless someone who works for BT can do a cease and reprovide like .. in the next day or two, I'm kinda knackered thanks for the offer though.
