Hi All,
Long story short, I was with TalkTalk who charged me £49.99 for an OpenReach engineer to "fix" my internet. It was constantly dropping out, and speeds were around 2mbps (I was told the average would have been about 8mbps).
The engineer installed a new microfilter. Did not solve the problem, still got charged. So I changed to BT who assured me my line was fine.
Guess what, I now get less than 1mbps, and they want to charge £129.99 for the same BT OpenReach engineer... Work that out!
Anyway, I've had a look at my socket - it looks like this. The green aren't connected. Orange and Orange/White going to A/B connection, and the blue has been tied together.
Everything is plugged straight into the test socket (that is how the house was when I moved in). Been with BT for a year now, and have never had stable internet.
Is there anything I can do myself, before having to call an engineer - who will no doubt charge me.
I do not use a phone, as everytime we receive a phone call the internet would drop out and it would take days to come back on. So we removed the phone to eliminate that as the problem.
Any advice or help is appreciated :-D
