Weird update problem?
My box is broken, when it boots up the box says it's updating on the screen, then it the screen goes black and has a dash on the actual screen on the box. Then it reboots. Finally, the box keeps repeating this.
Any help?

Flash memory death - it tries to update, it doesn't take, rinse & repeat - needs a replacement ... that's how my old Pace 1000 died

I looked up this problem and it said that it was not a flash memory death, it said it needed to unplug it from the mains for a month, and then put it back in. Then it should update. I tried that but it did not work. Do you know what the problem is then?

Where on earth did you read that?
Anyway, your box is broken. Give Virgin Media a call and they will send someone out to look at it.

Don't believe everything you read!
Had you phoned Customer Services in the first place, you would have had it repaired or received a new one by now. Particularly if you really did wait a month before plugging it back in!!! Did you really follow that advice?

Re: Weird update problem?
Yeah, I actually did! I found another website and it said it was a corrupted firmware update and I should leave it alone for a while. It is working now.
