Re: email error code, what does it mean?
Now have a further developement to this problem.
Today I downloaded 132 messages but without my avast scanning the files.
I got the same connection drop error at number 86.
Restarted avast and managed to download all 132, this time with no problem.
Something I have noticed is I do not have a problem when downloading large amounts of mail from Yahoo.
Ukonline say the problem is down to my ISP, which is NTL, but as it seems to be only specific to Ukonline I am beggining to wonder if the problem is their end.
Perhaps I should point out that my messages are normally in the hundreds and the average file size is about 500k.
Apart from leaving OE to automatically connect and download a few at a time does anyone have any other suggestions, or should I get back to Ukonline?

Just started with same error here in Coronation Street land by the looks - appears to be intermittent. Nothing on Service Status page.

Seems to be the Virus Scan so I suspect they will patch it.
Do u have Norton Virus scan?
Iââ‚ ¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢ve got my version E-mail scan off which is not the best at the moment.

Downloaded new Commom Client from Norton this morning and now can send email again.
Looks as if Norton messed someting up.

Re: email error code, what does it mean?
Symantec have withdrawn common client update 2.1.4 and 2.1.5 is now available through live update. This has also cured my problems

Re: email error code, what does it mean?
I know this is a 3 year old thread but it helped my sort my identical problem - now it works, now it don't.
I don't have Norton but I do have Zone Alarm. Zone Alarm was not the guilty party.
I did have SpySweeper active. I shut down SpySweeper and IMMEDIATELY Outlook 2007 started working.
I suspect that Spysweeper may have had an update that affected Outlook and Mailwasher. I had lost all abilities to connect to Freeserve, my mail server or my ISP TalkTalk, although I could get web mail.
Thanks chapesses and chaps.

Re: email error code, what does it mean?
I'm getting this problem too and I use Kaspersky Antivirus; if I disable it, it makes no difference at all.
I have 5 ntl addresses and not all fail at once, and different ones fail each time I try so to me this points to a mailserver problem
