Re: VM least complained BB provider according to ofcom
These are just based on reports to Ofcom, which does not necessarily reflect how many customers of each isp have actually complained directly to the isp. For instance I have not complained to Ofcom but I did let Watchdog know of my issues.
Even so, lets look at how pathetic the reality is compared to the headline stat of VM being the least complained about :
Quote:
|
Sky took fourth spot with just 0.1 complaints for every 1,000 customers, while Virgin Media was named the least complained-about major provider - with 0.08 per 1,000 subscribers - for the first time since the second quarter of 2011.
|
So ten people out of a thousand complained about Sky while eight in one thousand complained about Virgin. Hardly a massive difference yet the VM groupies will shout about it and VM may even use it in its advertising.
There is also the fact that VM probably had more complaints overall but these stats are averaged out over 1k customers.

Don't forget the details of the Pay TV complaints:
Quote:
Figures 8 and 9 show that Ofcom received fewer complaints over the period in
question about Sky compared with the other two providers,
Virgin Media also generated above industry average complaint levels over the period.
|
More complaints about VM than Sky, didn't see you shout about that part

Re: VM least complained BB provider according to ofcom
VM are also the least complained about fixed line provider too. Looks like they are doing a good job, just need to get the tv stuff sorted now as they are slightly behind Sky in that category.

The stats aren't averaged out over one thousand customers, they are averaged per thousand customers....

I like watching each side of the devide attempt to prove they can wave there willys better in an argument than the other side can. I have my deck chair and some cold beers in the fridge for watching the entertainment as the children fight it out.

These complaints are about complaints to the provider.
Each provider is required to register a customers complaint about whatever to do with their service, OFCOM then collates these to produce these reports. It's not just about complaints escalated to OFCOM.
At Sky, any time a customer complains about something to do with the service or a person who is part of the business, a complaint is registered on the account. I believe all other providers who are regulated by OFCOM need to have similar processes in place.
I'm sure BenMcr or some other Virgin staff member will be able to confirm if Virgin have a similar process.
