Re: superhub 2
Make sure your existing router has the WAN to LAN bandwidth sufficient for your new tier.

Re: superhub 2
I just picked up a WD MyNet N750 for £50 as it seems you only get a Hub 2 if you are a new customer or it's faulty.

Re: superhub 2
Just looked at this post and noticed the usb port in the pictures which is very tidily covered in black plastic and was not pointed out to us, lol.
Can this be used with the old-ish usb to fire wire style cables?

Re: superhub 2
Hi guys, Just recently (2-3 days ago) phoned VM about the fact that I have old gear (DIR-615 + VMG300) that doesn't support the 120Mb upgrade I have now.
After 3 phone calls later (one being a guy saying there was no way they would give me superhub without paying them £75!!!), the nice lady on the other end said she would send me the superhub.
Thing is, I said I didnt want the superhub 1 as I am aware of the problems and asked her if I should wait for superhub 2 or that they would send me one anyway, she said something like "yeah". (Not sure she understood me).
Got the superhub this morning and its the superhub 1.
Would they accept it back or exchange it for the superhub 2 now that I have opened the box??
Cheers guys

Re: superhub 2
If you stay in modem mode you wouldn't need a SH2 although I don't think the DIR-615 can hack 120 meg.
As for will VM exchange for a SH2, I doubt it - they're just not like that.

Re: superhub 2
Can only get about 98Mb max on wired with the DIR-615. Really need it to be wireless really and can't afford a decent router.
Thanks for your reply

Re: superhub 2
are these superhub2s costing signficantly more than the sh1 units? as the sh1 was dished out llke candy. I was given 3 of VM free of charge.

Re: superhub 2
I'd have thouight that the SH2 cost has incremented by the separate 5GHz wireless card. Still a £15 device in bulk, IMO. Nobody's saying.

Re: superhub 2
Early on the SH1 was not dished out willy nilly. It's only when they churned through thousands of returns that they started handing them out like sweets.

Re: superhub 2
I am an existing customer. After contacting VM about a broadband problem, they said that they would send me a Superhub free of charge.
How can I tell if it is a Superhub 1 or 2?
Cheers

Re: superhub 2
If it's a SH1, it'll say VMDG480 on the back panel.

Re: superhub 2
Thanks, it is a Superhub 1.
Before I have it set up, have all the well documented problems with it now been ironed out?
If not, I may stick to my existing set up.
There is a small plastic spanner thing included. Is this some marketing gimmick that I can throw away, or will it serve some purpose to the person installing it if I decide to go ahead?
