Re: superhub 2
I've been happy with my experience of it. Wireless range and speed is on par with my existing router.
Router mode seems to have the ability to cause havoc with TBB monitors but it has no detriment on actual service and it looks like it's something they are planning to fix.
My only real criticism would be that the UI is pretty poorly laid out. But as it's identical to the superhub 1's UI this is more for consistency than ease of use I guess. Would just have been nice to see something along the lines of a tomato style interface.

My experience with the sh2 is that it is a significant improvement with regard to wireless performance and stability. Hardware life and failure rates are still to be determined of course.

Reduced support costs would have been part of the spec and probably helped get some better hardware than would have been considered otherwise. VM would have learnt this lesson from the original hub.
An isp supplied router is never going to be as good as a decent router at this moment in time, it just has to be good enough to do the job, easy to support and use, reliable and give less reasons for support calls.
Lets hope the sh2 doesnt have wireless dropout issues.

Re: superhub 2
I think its very buggy and voip still doesnt work with sipgate. It requires rebooting way more than the old hub and gives a dodgy tbb graph.
Never had a issue with the wireless on the old hub and was great till r37 broke some voip.
Only possitive is you can change the LED brightness.

Re: superhub 2
dropouts were never a recurring or frequent problem for me with the sh so difficult to comment other than for me the lack of a problem continues.
on a lighter note a major boon is no flashing blue lights frightening the local criminal fraternity.

Re: superhub 2
The VOIP issue does need sorting if you're not prepared to go to modem mode.
VM have shown serious commitment to fix other issues reported on the trial so I have no doubt that this one is receiving serious attention.

I had dropout issues on the SHUB, my wife's laptop would never stay connected for longer than 5 mins, my daughters iphone would have trouble connecting and then staying connected. Both of those items connect first time and stay connected when connected to the NGSH. I was also at my neighbours house tonight and had a look at my signal strength on my S3 and it was still nice and strong, it let me stream a YouTube video no problem.
I was there because he has major issues with wireless on his shub and as the NDA has been lifted i could show him the difference. He even said he saw a new wifi signal appear a couple of weeks ago that seemed stronger than his shub. He now knows what it is and wants one asap

Most peoples graphs look like this in router mode, although i am not sure if it is affecting the connection.

Re: superhub 2
As has been mentioned above, that is no doubt pinging your CMTS and not your superhub

I was going to say its a vast improvement over the first superhub, the connectors are on the thin side which is good, but the stand they have should have been top and bottom so it could be laid flat. ISP's I feel still fail in that they think standing up is superior to flat.
Its good that modem has advanced to the the point its labeled on the device and it was from my first post on the head of VMs CS blog that was the birth of modem mode.

What I find interesting is that previously 5ghz is a premium because its hardly used. Now VM a major uk isp is going to have it on their new CPE suddenly 5ghz may get crowded?

The current Superhub has 5ghz mode and has been around for a longgggggg timeeeeeeeeeeeeee An lets face it, it can't get any more crowded than 2.4ghz and that works fine for 99% of everyone.

ahh didnt know ok.
Since I pretty much never used it in router mode except when I had to at start.
2.4ghz does it job yes but it is damn crowded where I live, over 15 networks on it and I only have houses one side of me.

My graph isn't pretty. It doesn't affect my connection though.
