We ought to be getting the HD versions for the menus that we still have in SD. The US have got them now, so another thing to add to 'Coming soon'.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
How long have previous updates taken to arrive on the UK TiVo after initially launching in the US?

There is no set rule. It all depends on release cycles. There is a central TiVo development team, and when new features are ready they get deployed into the next release in each country. Sometimes VM has had things before the US, such as reverse EPG and the miniguide.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
I have suddenly lost the functionality of the TiVo app, I don't think it is the homeplug as the TV guide forms then comes up with a communication error, any help would be greatly appreciated?
Ps I have already restarted my cable modem and wireless router

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Excellent news as why swap the best STB on the market for something that's inferior.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Tivo could do with a 'holiday mode'. Looking at the number of series links, wish lists and 'one offs' we record and the fact the box is normally sitting at about 80-85% I think this would be a good idea.
Let me explain - an additional setting where you can tell Tivo you're going away and then the box only records the things you have marked as very important (Mrs G's soapy's in our house). As our box stands at the moment when we go away later in the year our options will be:
1. Take our chances and see what records and what doesn't.
2. Go on a crazy deleting spree before we go.
3. Remove most of the series links and wishlists.
4. Not go on holiday!!
To me it's a feature that would put Tivo even further infront of the competition as I'm sure I'm not the only person who is faced with such stressful situations!
Cheers
Grim

That's what "Keep Until I Delete" is for. Tell it the important ones, and let it manage the rest.

Pretty much everything on the box is set to 'Keep Until I Delete'. It would just be nice if you could have a 'holiday mode - Yes/No' option on series links etc so reducing the amount recorded whilst you're away is as easy as selecting 'I'm on holiday untill dd/mm/yy' in a menu somewhere.
Cheers

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
If your series links are in order of priority then this will happen anyway, won't it?

That just resolves clashes. Grim wants to prevent it recording low priority ones at all, clash or no clash. There isn't a way to do it, but careful use of KUID will achieve the same end-result - they will return from hols to find the hard drive full of Mrs G's recordings. (Surely her recordings are most important whether or not you are on holiday?)
Another idea: his and hers Tivos

Ahh if only MRS was of any use on the majority of channels that people watch.
