And not paying the fine can put you in jail.

You can't go to prison for non-payment of a TV Licence - the maximum penalty is a fine of up to £1,000.
A custodial sentence can, however, be imposed as a result of non-payment of court fines, including fines for failure to have a TV Licence. This is a court matter though.
Hope this helps clarify things.

so you can end up in jail having meat pies with pork in it

You don't have to be devout, or even religious to have a problem with any pig products..
I have two friends who are both meat eaters, both not even Muslim but still get ill at the thought of eating pork or bacon.

You and I both know it will be all about religion don't we ,it will be all about certain religions and lack of respect thereof and then how much compensation they can get

Pork is prohibited in the Bible in both Leviticus and Deuteronomy, seems to get ignored

And how about the fact that the companies supplying the food say it's one thing when it turns out to be something else
That's the real issue here
Anyway I'm pretty sure that some 'devout' people of all religions including Christians have committed crimes for which they've ended up in prison.

Yes it is ,the last thing i am concerned about is prisoners getting traces of the wrong type of meat ,it will just be an excuse for them to con some money by way of compensation

Re: 'Traces of pork DNA' found in Halal prison meat
How come they can detect small traces of pork in the pies shipped into HM Prisons but not the knives, files, and drugs that usually get smuggled in?
