Re: Virgin launch new PAYG unlimited tariffs

10GB is actually a very generous fair use limit. More than you get on the maximum 4G tariff on EE. The 384Kb/s speeds after that are above average too.

Re: Virgin launch new PAYG unlimited tariffs

Well, the £15 tariff looks a bit pants.

£15 at 26p a minute gets you around an hour of talk time. Compare that to giffgaff where you'll get 400 mins for £15, or 250 mins for £12, both with unlimited data and texts.

Re: Virgin launch new PAYG unlimited tariffs

Those bonus tariffs might compare well against using bundles... - remember, the bonus stuff is on top of the credit, not a bundle charge that's taken out of it, though you still need a spreadsheet to work out what's best.
But the 26p/min flat rate for calls outside bundle is just appalling.
Wonder if there will be similar but better version of this for VM customers - ah, looks like that gets you free VM-VM minutes.

Seriously, maybe I should turn at least one of my "Original PAYG" in favour of "Simply 8p" before they cancel that deal. Only reason for not diving stright to 8p, is not entirely sure if it's best to stay with VM for the rest, and after the 8p, the Original PayG is not bad as a straight Payg, alternatively, it's unlocks & Giffgaff.

GiffGaff limit you to 1GB per hour, if you use Netflix or Sky Go its pointless.

Apparently you can still add the Airtime Bundles on top if you want http://www.virginmobile.com/vm/gener...les.shop.sm034

1GB per hour is enough to stream 720p HD. I doubt you'd need more on your mobile phone.

Incidentally that's the same as the quota on VM's 60Mb service at peak times (5000MB over 5 hours) if you don't want to get STM'd.
