My speed readings through speedtest.net appear fine
But I am trying to D/L some stuff off Usenet (through the giganews server) and I am getting terrible download speeds.
Before the weekend I was getting full speed downloads at 100 meg - Having been away over the weekend I hadnt tried for a couple of days and at the moment I am lucky to be pushing 10 meg.
p2p traffic gets throttled during the evening and weekends and that is on top of any other congestion as well. I have found that trying to use newsgroups over the week is pointless.
I agree that is what it sounds like - but why am I being capped through STM?
My understanding was that there wasnt any STM for the 100 mb package and in any case when I first experienced this I had been away for the weekend so hadnt been using my service at all?
When I was on the 20 mb package STM kicked in if I downloaded xGB of data within a certain time period. How is it now calculated?
And yes this morning no problem - 100 mb DL speed.
