Re: Increasing packetloss and ping

Thier fault line this morning said known issues in En6 to En10 areas (includes me). Would have been nice if the Indian call centre worker had managed to tell me that last night instead of working as intended and my 0.2 speed was due to many people online in my area

Yes, the rather odd 'bump' is back.

Very bizarre!

Left of the red line is my 50Mb/VMNG300, after the red line is 100Mb/Superhub

Re: Increasing packetloss and ping

I put in my phone number on the status checker (an 01293 number) and it shows broadband problems reported yesterday at 8:24pm with a resolution due Midday tomorrow.

The fault reference is listed as F001817827

It is also showing a loss of channels on the TV service for a similar time period.

Re: Increasing packetloss and ping

@soupdragon...

with a connection that bad have you considered using ADSL or 3G or even dial-up instead? I sure as hell wouldn't still be with VM if mine was that bad.

is it worth ringing VM or will i get fobbed off as everybody else seems to have been on the VM forums?
My speeds are fine its just the packet loss that is making BF3 unplayable.
Same here, No BF3 unless between 1am to 5am

Sorry I missed your reply yesterday.

My monitor looks a little twitchy, but I've seen worse.

Unfortunately my switch to 100Mb turned out to be a switch to 6Mb

The packetloss is a superhub reboot, a vain attempt to improve my connection, which can be seen in all its glory here:

Re: Increasing packetloss and ping

Tried the Manchester one and got the same result (file download speeds were also less than 1MB/sec). However, I think I may have found (at least part of) the problem.

My power levels are good, my network monitor shows an OK connection and I'm running the Superhub in modem mode... it's nothing on my network as that hasn't changed.

I powered off the superhub, unscrewed the connector and the attenuator (I have a 15db one fitted) then just screwed them back in again and voila, I have a much better service!

I now have 96Mb wired and 65Mb wireless, which is much bettter than the abysmal speeds I got before. That Ashford server is indeed pants though.
