Either the router itself is faulty, or it is misconfigured. I'd suspect a port or two isn't properly opened through a firewall. Is something being overzealous scanning for virus / malware or checking that sites are valid.
I would look at the router and see if you can revert the firmware to manufacturer's standard, and then also do a reet to factory standards. If that doesn't get you anywhere then it may be time for the router to visit the local recycling centre.
