Re: The Harmony remote thread
Okey dokey, now all set up and working!!!! Had to use the stand alone program though as the web based one wont recognise the Tivo!!! Which is a pain as it web version has more options and a better interface!!! ho hum!!! Time to play with it now :O)
Thanks for all the advice in previous posts in this thread, it has proved invaluable.

Re: The Harmony remote thread
After reading about all the benefits of Harmony remotes on this thread, have just gone and ordered a Harmony 700
All my devices are in the database except my new Samsung TV. I've noticed that the next model up for my TV is in the database, so would that work for it?
It's coming on Tuesday, so look forward to replacing my 4 remotes with just the one

I didn't know there was an online web browser version; is it recent? Glad I didn't know about it if it causes problems.

Re: The Harmony remote thread
I dont know how recent it is as this is my first logitech remote!! But it does have additional functions such as being able to set up favorite channels which cant be done from the stand alone prog.

You can set up favourites from the stand alone software; it's a long time since i've done it, and can't remember how, but I had favourites on both my harmoy remotes for the V+. I haven't bothered for the Tivo as I didn't use them that often.

Yes you should have no problem with that. Most Samsungs, and this is true with most manufacturers, share the same commands and sometimes even the same remotes.
In fact my old Sammy had buttons on the remote the new one does not yet were still listed in the database. Or I could teach it the command from the old remote and new Sammy could still use it.

Thanks for the useful information. Got the Harmony two days ago, and am glad I bought one (I wish I'd bought one sooner ). Being able to press just the one button to start all my devices (instead of three spread across three remotes) is a great feature
As you said, my Samsung's remote was identical to the next model up, so the Harmony remote recognised it with no problems. The worst part about set-up was running up (to the PC) and downstairs (back to the TV) to get everything tweaked just right. And finding out that changing one thing often broke something else. But the end result was worth it

Re: The Harmony remote thread
It has taken me a week to get mine working. I managed to get the TV set up okay with the Harmony, but I couldn't get my TV to switch over to HDMI2 without using the assistant. My DVD recorder was turning onto the wrong input too, as was my Home Cinema System and I was in a right muddle. I did phone Logitech CS and had to wait a few days for someone to get back to me as they had to escalate the query to someone with more knowledge. A really nice guy in Canada rang me last night and although it took an hour it's now all working as it should be

Good to know, though. At least they seem to being acting on advice from their users.
Excellent. Means they finally incorporated my added commands

After enduring the muti remote problem for a coule of weeks now, and reading this thread, I have just ordered a Harmony one,
Hopefully from what I've learnt from here already I should be able to get it set up ok,
Think I will benefit from your efforts in getting the extra commands added, so thanks for that

Re: The Harmony remote thread
After seeing the length of this thread I thought, "oh no, this isn't gonna be easy" but in the end it was a piece of cake to get my Harmony One working with the TiVo box.
The only things I changed from default were:
- Use the big Up/Down buttons as Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down
- Map the Exit button to (return to) TV
- Map bottom-left button to Clear
The one "gotcha" was that I tried to edit the menu buttons from the device and not the activity, but once I remembered that everything was fine.
One issue though: sending a sequence to change channel is extremely slow, much slower that V+ and much slower than just typing in the buttons. I tried setting the delay at 100ms, 0ms, 200ms but this seems to make no difference.

p.s. in case you hadn't seen this, to get nice logos for channels on your Harmony One, see:

I got my 600 today, created and account and downloaded software onto my PC
Cisco CT8685 was not recognised, so had to set it up using the learn mode
All works well after some messing around and I can use my TiVo with limited commands
My AV, Apple TV, Sammy TV, all work perfect, My TiVo box works ok but I have use some work arounds to get all the functions
Did I miss something? as in my case using the method above I couldn't find a
Cisco CT8685? any advice would be welcome

Well I don't doubt you at all, but it just doesn't work for me, after 6 attempts I gave it up,
I accept its my error but there you are, I can't get it to work using the on-line method, is there another way?
I can't watch your video on my Mac so will have to forward it to my Windows PC later
I can get some functions working and its good to be able to switch all my stuff on with one click, so will keep trying
