It shouldn't matter if it records those channels though as the audio description has to be selected. Otherwise you will just get standard audio.

ah didnt know that. Will leave it as is then! Cheers

They don't NEED added, however VM and TiVo are working to add them.
My view is TiVo has been around for years and works brilliantly. V+ works great the way it does. So if you miss V+ features then go back to it. I love TiVo and the way it works. I don't miss the V+ at all, TiVo is a totally different product all together.
What's the point in getting a great service added to VM only for people to say they wish it was more like the old product?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
I haven't got my TiVo yet so am commenting as someone who has never tried it but surely the point is that people want the best of both? TiVo might be fantastic but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be better with features that are already in V+
people always miss the bits that they had but have lost regardless of how much better the new is.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Hi everyone,
Im sorry if what Im gonna ask has come up before, but as I cant actually afford the 1T Tivo, does anyone know when the 500Gb's coming out? It would be cheaper for me being a XL customer and I understand the only difference is in the HD capacity.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your opinion Stephen whilst agreeing with your tivo comments there were certains bits that were good on the v plus and customers liked these and thats why they want them added in some future update to tivo, a little bit of old and a little bit of new never did any harm but improve things.

Perhaps people like some of the features of the old product and wish to see them incorporated in the new one along with any new features.

Agree with Denphone on this.
Why does there have to be a V+ or Tivo choice for certain functionality?
Tivo/VM have added features to the US version specific for VM, so why couldn't they have added features from V+ that were superior to those onTivo, or missing from Tivo?
If Tivo hadn't been modified it in any way from the US version, then your 'choice' argument holds up; tivo or V+. But they did. And to say Tivo does everything better than V+ is looking at tivo with blinkered vision IMHO.
The best of Tivo US combined with the best of V+ was the way to go IMHO.
From my perspective, the one feture that V+ trounced Tivo on, is padding; Tivo really needs to adopt the V+ method.
Also picture quality, but that is probably a Cisco box issue.

Yep agree totally too. Cant see the need for V+ features to be removed from the Tivo. It dosent make it a worse product to carry the V+ advantages.
As repeated many time already, if their on Tivo use them or dont. If their not on their you dont have an option.....
People wish its was more like the old product because it carried very good features. The Tivo carries MANY advantages and features the V+ dosent, so to say if you miss V+ features then go back to it isnt really an option.
Its great to see a company acknowledging which it obviously now sees as a mistake.
Once they reinstate 'reminders' it wont change anyones Tivo for the worse but will enchance others.......Everyones happy
