I've just read in the Tivo thread a quote from the official VM forum and the final point states how they have dealt with the roll out.
It says 1000 VIP's, 1000 XL's and then the series 1 users.
So my question is are the 1000 VIP's the people who received the remotes? If not then that's another group of people.
I guess it looks like now I will be waiting for that email in a few weeks and see what they are going to charge the remaining VIP's.
Also waiting to see if they sort my bill out at the end of the month after being charged £20 wrongly for a upgrade to 50Mb and a charge of £7 for the HD's even though I was a VIP50.
I have a feeling a combo of my bill being wrong and a email about the charge for Tivo will combine for not a nice phone call for some offshore person

I have just received a response from a Stephen O'Donoghue at the E-Contact Team – must confess a quicker response that I expected. Apparently he has been trying, unsuccessfully, to contact me by telephone – not sure why he has been unsuccessful as the number I gave him was my mobile and it’s been sitting beside me fully charged since I contacted customer services. The only call I have made or received in the last 24 hours was a call on my mobile from a family member at 9:11 pm last night and there are no missed calls on my mobile or landlines.
His response was “…I’m sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the cost of your package. I have reviewed your account and can confirm that your package is as agreed in your call on 3rd March 2011 and as detailed in the contract we sent on 4th March 2011.
As a gesture of goodwill I have applied a credit of £40.00 to your account to cover the installation charge, you’ll see this on page 3 of your March statement...”
The goodwill gesture is appreciated and with the six month discount of £12.25 per month results in a net saving of about £1 over the 18 month term of the contract on what should be the price of the VIP 50 package with a V+ HD Box instead of the standard V HD box second box. However, I am not looking to make money, I just want to get the price right. Stephen O'Donoghue didn’t respond to my request to clarify why I am being charged £116.80 rather than £110.55 and I am even beginning to doubt whether I have been put on the VIP 50 package at all (there is nothing about it in the contract).
As I said in an earlier post, I don’t want to go down the telephone route again as that invariably leads to a ”…the price isn’t correct/yes it is…” debate that I can’t win, but I am quite happy to email or write. Is there any way I can get my query directed to someone who knows the correct price of the package or is there a code for the package that I can quote that will lead them to the correct price?
I’m really getting frustrated with this.
Thanks

So based on what you have said that contradicts what DF has said in that the VIP's didn't get a raffle ticket and were automatically added to a raffle.
I can wait frustratingly for another 3 weeks until the end of the month which is when we should be hearing about how to get our own Tivo and the promised VIP relaunch.
If both of those don't happen then I will be in touch with Mr Burkett and his team.
Thanks for the info though as trying to see if their is any pattern happening here but there doesn't seem to be any kind of logic used.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
I expect this thread to fire up again at the end of next week when Q1 ends and VIP's have no new info about the promised new VIP bundles as you mention.
I'm hoping they will pleasantly surprise us with at least some news of some sorts but I doubt it.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
I suspect the "announcement" will actually be an offer to upgrade to tivo at a reduced rate ....
I would expect nothing less as VIP stands for Very Impressive Package and that must include tivo if they are staking their future on that product and calling it the top package
I hope they offer VIP free upgrades but i doubt we will get it with a much better offer than the previous £149 + free installation and for those that dont take up the tivo offer i suspect it will be stay as it is.
I dont actually think the VIP revamp will amount to much more than the VIP50 deal is now unless you go for the VIPTiVo if it ever gets launched

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
My opinion of the VIP package revamp should be that the £3 Tivo charge should be included as extra discount on the VIP50.
I know some people will say that this £3 is a fee for Tivo, however the £7 Sky HD premium is for Sky but it is included in the VIP50. I think £100.55 for the current VIP50 line up but to include the Tivo fee is a reasonable expectation. How they would handle upfront box prices would be another matter. Personally, I think it should be the £149 with free install for VIP50 subscribers.
That is my take on it anyway, I think that would be fair for both sides.

well I for one cannot afford nor willing to part with £149 but I am happy with my V+ PVR so there I will stay until it is incorporated into the bundle eventually.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
I'd be happy if a VIP100 package was made available which includes Tivo, SKY Premium HD and 100mb broadband. I'd happily pay between £110 and £115 per month for this but wouldn't want to pay any install fees or equipment charges. I'd happily sign a 24 month agreement for this as long as there are no up front fees.
Personally I don't think Virgin are going to be coming up with any ground breaking packages any time soon. I've been following this thread since day 1; things have been way too quiet for way too long. When this thread started Virgin were being hit with wave upon wave of disgruntled telephone calls and e-mails. They had to say something to calm customers down.
All I can say is prove me wrong Virgin, and keep to your word!
