Don't worry if it says you are called Phil at the end, it is happening to other people.
I've already had the call and am having my Tivo service installed on Tuesday. Can I still register for this do you think?

Also it would be easy for VM to do a deal with Lovefilm so that the content is available via a dedicated link to speed things up or even have Lovefilm servers on the VM network. The 10 meg BB in the TiVo would be good enough for great HD quality streamed to the box.

With Lovefilm content there would be masses of VOD added to that available and so would be a money maker for both on a pay to view as well as subscription basis with VM taking a cut.

Win Win for both of them and us
Yeah, but Lovefilm don't have THAT much content to stream (yet) - they only have the rights to stream 5,000 films to compared to their DVD-Blu Ray rental selection of almost 69,000. Even with the backing of Amazon, securing the additional rights to stream more films will take time, especially taking into account The Sky Factor and their collection of VOD rights:

http://paidcontent.co.uk/article/419...tals-business/

Also take into account that the cheapest streaming option from Lovefilm costs £5.91 for 2 hours of streamed content per month. Unlimited streaming starts from £9.18. I think the chances of VM doing some kind of content deal with Lovefilm (where streamed content is included within XL/Tivo charge) is slim.

Also take into account that films from Universal Studios are unavailable to rent/stream from Lovefilm, along with other films which other services have exclusive deals for (like the new Robin Hood film - exclusive to rent from Blockbuster).

Having said all that, Lovefilm is a must-app TiVo app, in my opinion, especially if Lovefilm stream in HD (and that 10mb pipe can actually go up to 20mb- lovely jubbly ):

Re: TiVo

Question: Does the TV Guide (EPG) update as fast as Sky with TiVO.

Like for example if a program runs over will it show that on the guide?

They do not accept incoming calls and they will call you back if it was the TiVo team.

So personally I think £3 for TiVo is a bargain
Sky+ was 10.00 a PVR was a luxury , now its becoming standard with Sky hence no Sky+ fee.

Re: TiVo

Will the Tivos given out as part of the "one of the first" ticket competition have 2 or 3 tuners?

I don't think I could give up the extra tuner as we often record 2 things while watching a third around prime time.

I don't think it is worth me entering the draw.

You will be able to keep the V+ as well if required.

OK, thanks. Might get a bit complicated with remotes if I was to win a tivo though.

All TiVo have 3 tuners, only 2 are active now and the 3rd tuner will be become active thanks to a software update (in March I've read).
