Well:
Sky Atlantic
Sky Atlantic HD
and
Sky LIVING it HD
will replace all Bravo and Channel One channels. BUT ONLY ON SKY!
Virgin Media get nothing in return!
In other words Sly Sky planned this to happen after they bought the channels off Virgin Media.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. I.
There were enough people on here looking for the Sky HD channels. Now they are saying we have got nothing in return? I have doubts whether VM have done the right think selling the channels but lets face it there would have been a long wait for those channels without that sale. that is unfortunately the state of broadcasting and it's regulation in this country.

Whats wrong with sky keeping some exclusive channels for their own platform?

Absolutely nothing if you have got shares in them. If you are just a customer like me then I'm amazed at you asking the question.

Channel exclusives never benefit the customer, unless you are on that platform.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. I.
Im a customer on both platforms and still wouldn't watch the channel but the reason why i asked the question is I see nothing wrong with them having exclusives since they have spend the money setting up the channel and buying the content.......whats stopping virgin from doing the same?

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. I.
This thread isn't the place for this discussion but it's not hard to see why other companies aren't able to do this. They haven't got anything like the money. Virgin Media is in debt. That's why they have sold the channels they already have to give them some cash for investment.
If you can afford to subscribe to two platforms then fair enough but most can't. I did read that Ofcom is maybe looking in to issues that make it easy for customers to swap platforms. i hope channel exclusivity is one of the issues they are looking in to.

Fair enough, thought i'd ask the questions since it seems that most people on this topic think they are entitled to every new channel launch by default haha

You mean apart from the 13 HD channels, Sky Sports Red Button, Sky VOD, access to internet content and £160,000,000 change? It's outrageous!

Funny that my V+ doesn't have any Sky OD or Sky Sports red button and how many customers really care about the 160,000,000

Just wondering what they are investing in as tivo was already in the pipeline surely they cant say it was for that.
