Why are VM so thick and stupid, It has put BBC Scotland on the network, an yet they won't be STV on the network, or doesn't VM know that its the same place, it doesn't make sense.

I think he was on about Virgin Media puting STV on UK Wide like BBC One Scotland is on Channel 86-. (I forget the last number).
But STV are only broadcasting in Scotland on other networks.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. I.
It's quite easy to get STV on Freesat but you either have to enter a Scottish postcode or use the box in non freesat mode, either option is a bit fiddly and of course you lose access to your correct region if you change the postcode.
Sky boxes can manually add STV through the add channels option but again it's fiddly and non too reliable, the box has a habit of forgetting the added channels and you cannot use Sky+ to record it either.
It's all down to licensing reasons, ITV1 London programming is only available in Scotland to provide the ITV Network AD service, if you notice the EPG banner isn't flagged as ITV1, merely ITV Audio Desc.
It is probably unlikely there would be a huge demand for STV outside of it's licensed area anyway although I wouldn't mind having it on VM, it's not going to happen though and it's not VM's decision anyway.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2011) Vol. I.
the annoying thing about the EPG is that the HD channel are extremely far down the list so if i want to watch BBCHD or ITV1HD i have to scroll down tons, my parents forget there are those channels as they are so far down.
Is there any way to remove the non-hd versions but still be able to get catch-up tv and on demand for those channels when the shows aren't available in HD? Can we re-order the channels manually? I have the samsung V+ box btw.

They can't put channels on that don't exist, except Sky Atlantic, which has a big ? above it. I think we have pretty much all the channels that the majority of people watch now. The only thing they could really add is HD channels and I'm sure they're working on that.

No but when you go to the TV Guide you can choose Option 8 for HD channels rather than Option 1 (all channels). This is what I do anyway.

I have all the HD channels stored as my favourites, that way we just have the HD channels we are subscribed to displayed and it only takes a press of the 'fav' button to show them.
The HD channels are all currently all over the place on the Sky EPG, I actually think VM's layout is tidier but Sky are introducing a system where the HD channel swaps places with the SD one (if the broadcaster wishes to and it's practical, it isn't really with regionalised channels) so hopefully VM will look at something simlar.

Yes, you can use Favourites as your own EPG.
