Nobody has them yet except trialists and testers, so you won't get many opinions from the general public.
They have actually been in customer pilot for a few weeks, and available to new 50mb customers since the start of this week.

The front screen of the interface is VM branded though this is merely an overlay and clicking Advanced Settings takes you to a typically Netgear interface. Hope this helps.

As I am the technical support agent I think that I can tell the difference between a standard Netgear router interface and a combined Netgear/Virginmedia interface.

The interface on the hub has both Netgear and Virginmedia branding once you log into the configuration pages and you then find that it has the modem power level pages and as with all Virginmedia modems you cannot change any of the modem settings due to it being locked down.

You then have the router pages which are of a similar layout to a standard Netgear page but with differences that Virginmedia required.

As part of our tools to support customers with this hub we have emulators which show us how each page should work with clickable links, so I have seen the actual pages.

You will find that due to it being a modem primarily that the will be very little that you can do with the hub unless you want to brick it, and no programmer is going to waste any time trying to write firmware for a modem/router when the are easier alternatives out there.

I am using a Hub and yes you can switch off DHCP from the LAN IP section of Advanced.

Re: Netgear CG2100D

Maque, I did not say you couldn't tell the difference. I only stated you and BenMcr (also VM staff according to his forum title) have stated just about the opposite about the same thing.

As we already clearly disagree about what you can do with the device, I'm not going to argue the point further. What Mick's just posted directly contradicts what you say, and he claims he actually has the device while you have an emulator. Given I've already proved VM's "emulators" to be inaccurate and unable to show you the "actual pages" of your own website on several calls to support already, I'm not going to put much faith into yours.

The is little point trying to do anything with that device as no one is going to write any firmware for it anyway.

As for switching off the DHCP in the hub we would not get into that as it would be Out Of Our Support Scope.

Re: Netgear CG2100D

Guess it's a good job I can write my own firmware and don't need your support then eh? Looks like the hubs (not superhubs, yet) are turning up quick on eBay as a lot of people have started getting them replaced, and VM don't seem to be asking for them back.

Soon as someone confirms if either the Hub or Superhub is dual-band, which I'm still waiting on...

If you click on the original link in this thread you will go to the webpage of the router the hub appears to based on and that only has Wireless: 802.11n in the 2.4 GHz band and not 5 GHz which will be the same with the hub.

Re: Netgear CG2100D

And then in the next post you say that it's different, which presumably means it's specifications may also be different? That said I wasn't expecting the hub to be dual-band, though someone has mentioned the SuperHub - I just have no confirmation yet.

Re: Netgear CG2100D

I have no complaints with the Hub.

Admittedly I only use the router to run a small home network consisting of a wired Desktop, a NAS device running a continuous backup and a laptop.

I have the network configured to fixed IP's and consequently have DHCP switched off. Both machines are port forwarded for torrents although I rarely use them.

I have seen up to 80Mb/s across the network on times which definately outperforms my old Linksys WRT54G2.

I find I can pull the full 20meg wired or wireless.

As stated I am not a torrent hog so have not much experience but have used it a few times with medium sized swarms without any problems whatsoever.

IMO it's a great bit of kit.

I rather doubt it will be 5GHz either.

Yes I do have one. Not at home at the moment but will gladly oblige when I am.
Just to substantiate though, the new wireless adapters that accompany the Super Hub also support dual band.
