Oy, one of you lot bought the one I've just ordered

Now I have to wait until they're back in stock - 1-2 weeks

My intelligence level is going to suffer by a half month's lack of reading - and it's fairly low to begin with

Re: The Amazon Kindle Thread

I am trying to finish paperback I was reading before kindle came. 700 pages

Did notice that reading in bed is not as comfortable, much prefer the kindle for holding

Wait, does that sound a bit kinky

One of the big reasons for me getting a kindle was because how uncomfortable it is holding a book. Especially ones like It and The Stand.

Mrs Gaz said, earlier, she would like her own Kindle - but would be happy enough if I got a new one & she inherited my series 2 - say no more, order placed

Excellent

...I spent a little while last night puting all my books into groups so it's much easier. I can't read the menu system, but once I sussed out how to turn the voice menus on it was great

That's interesting! Could you explain how their system works and what formats they support, and how many (if known) titles they have available?

I've not had to use it yet (Potton / Bedford), but I will update when I've done so.

Re: The Amazon Kindle Thread

Leeds Libraries do ebooks in Adobe PDF eBook and Adobe EPUB format - they have nearly 2000 titles.

Re: The Amazon Kindle Thread

I very much doubt my local library will ever do eBooks as it seems to be stuck in the dark ages (as is the rest of the town). The whole shebang needs some serious investment.
