I think it's fair to say that most (if not all) newspapers have *some* political bias. The Guardian is no exception. It's also worth noting that the Mail, the Sun and Mirror seem to be the most politically biased papers. The Express used to be strongly Tory, but seems to have given that up and now devotes itself to searching out new stories about the McCanns and Princess Di.

It's just that the Mail seems to actively seek out stories that enable it to preach hate, and will write up those stories in the strongest, most emotive terms possible.

I have often criticised the Mail for that reason.

I thought they just made them up?

I agree with all you say, I do not purchase a regular newspaper myself but often pick one up at random in the workplace. Regarding your comment about the Express, I was surprised when I picked up the Express a while ago, my grandfather always had the Express delivered even though he was a Labour voter. This was probably to avoid being subjected entirely to political views from the left, now it seems to contain a lot less political right wing content.

I guess the chosen few here had me down as a Mail, Sun, Mirror or Daily Sport reader. To be honest I don't have the time to waste reading a daily newspaper.

Re: Happy Daily Heil Day

Actually, my comment about the express was a joke, but it does seem to be quite right wing now.

Having said that, I often read the Evening Standard, which is sometimes like the Mail without the hate.
