Why would you want to let a manager who had won you 3 titles in a row and nearly a 4th, go?

From what i've heard and read, one of the main problems with Strachan was his apparently awful playing style. The fans didn't like the way Celtic were playing at all, even if it did bring them their usual trophy haul.
Despite West Brom being relegated, Mowbray has been praised all season for the entertaining, pure football his side played, despite the individual players generally being pretty rubbish.
I guess that's why. Though it does really say something about the quality and appeal of Scottish football, when names like Mowbray are being thrown around.

Now doesn't that remind you of Mourinho at Chelsea? Crap football, but won. Only with Chelsea it wasn't the fans that wanted him out, but Abramovich,

That's more like it! That's the sort of thing I want to hear if we lose tonight.

I only say because if we win there's going to be a LOT of smug United fans in here tonight, all cranking it up a notch or two. But we've got to be prepared to take it back if we lose.

Aye. Noted. I have an online race while the match is on, so I have to keep concentration split between the 2!

Re: Football : Season 08/09
I only just noticed that Barcelona don't have a proper team kit sponsor! They advertise Unicef for free and donate to them. That's a great idea, other clubs should do the same.

Aston Villa do.
Randy Lerner did a deal where he pays "Acorns" , which are kids hospices (?) to promote them on villas kits.
Say what ya like about foreign owners of clubs ( like uncle malcolm the poison dwarf ) but i wish more of them were like Lerner.
Thumbs up to the bloke

Villa did that with Acorn this season. Free sponsorship, but don't know if they also donate.

Re: Football : Season 08/09
Barca have never had a sponsor as their shirt is designed around the Catalan flag, even though that is yellow and red and their kit is blue and red. As such they don't want to pollute the purity of the shirt with a sponsor log. A few seasons ago they had a small one on their sleeve then they did the Unicef thing. Due to the way Spanish clubs are run with the members system they can afford to do this
