Re: ok, excuse me being ignorant, but..
You'll probably find that they are all legit things that windows bloatware has running in the background, doing nothing but eating memory (hence why you need so much of it) on the offchance that you might start up some program a millisecond faster.
I usually get out if I'm unsure of anything and see the PC misbehaving.

Re: ok, excuse me being ignorant, but..
They all look like normal processes to me.
Some you don't need, but you have to decide which ones you don't need running.
You can get a good idea from here.

You mean i went to all the hassle of opening a whole virtual machine(well, hitting ATL-F2 and typing vi......then clicking Start in virtualbox) but you didn`t even check your task manager....You lazy sod.
And i thought reversing down the road to the shops was bad.
EDIT:i`m now waiting on you telling me about the shiney Mac you probably use rather than Windows...eek

It annoys me how many processors Apple try to run when you install itunes (even if you aren't running it!)

If you right click your taskbar task manager is there easier than keyboard shortcuts
