As would we all if we had the wherewithal (unless it was the Gibson SG I attempted to play a few years ago, who's neck was banana shaped due to its lack of a truss rod).

as the owner of over 20 different guitars, the epiphone les paul custom plus range are about as near to the gibson ones as you'll get apart from some of the Tokai range.

Re: Anyone Here Ever Used A Gibson les Paul Or A Copy?

Im just realising how racist guitar companies are to left handed people, Dean, gibson, the whole lot of them! Its like the Dean Razorbacks have loads of designs, only one of those designs is avaliable for left handed people

Same for the Les Paul too!

You may find that they do them, but that they aren't advertised.

I agree though that the market for left hookers is fairly limited.

Some guitars can be specced as left-handed if you go directly to the manufacturer (or through a good dealer). Be prepared to pay lots more for it though

I don't think it's racist, it's just all to do with economies of scale (if you'll pardon the pun). They just don't sell as many lefties therefore they're dearer to produce.

It's why I learned right-handed instead of my natural left-handed. When I started playing 20 odd years ago it was even worse, reasonably priced left-handed guitars where not to be found.

A wee bit late - but I have to disagree on the last part - I ordered a specific colour etc lefty Les Paul for my daughter as a pressie - it took a very short time - a month? to arrive, and a cost a wee bit extra - £20 and arrived gleaming and as promised. I can't speak for other makes though.

Hmmmm - an edit.......... in the mean time she'd already learned to play right-handedly and.............. we um ended up selling it almost um almost unplayed Oh well!

Re: Anyone Here Ever Used A Gibson les Paul Or A Copy?

Seriously. My guitar playing sucks big time, I don't get any time to practice, and I never get to play with anybody else. I can't afford lessons, I don't have the time to commit to a band, and I know I'm never gonna be a rock star.

But you know what.....?

If I could I would spend EVERY PENNY I HAVE on guitars.

I think they're a thing of beauty, and some of them are works of art.

For me it's just as much about the look, feel, and soul, of a guitar as it is about the way that it sounds.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's Ass, but thee'd better damn well covet their Gibson

There's at least one (US) retailer that specialises in left-handed guitars:
