I got the upgrade today, but my pings to other servers are very poor most of today. Games servers that I previously go 20 to 40 are now at 150 to 200.
Though speedtest reports 10 meg, but it did have higher than normal ping. The connection is through a linksys router and both it and the modem were rebooted this morning when I got the speed upgrade.

I may try another reboot and see if this fixes the problem, if not then I guess the network may have a problem.
