Will licence payers give Apple Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£2 a go to watch BBC shows?

So we pay Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£135.50 to the BBC so they can make programs for us to watch & listen and now they expect us those that paid for the programs in the first place to pay the best part of 2 quid to view them again via Itunes.

Worth discussing or is it discusting?

I won't be, but I suspect people will. People already buy BBC DVDs. Admittedly, with most BBC DVDs you actually get a fairly good selection of extras that you won't get with iTunes.

How long are things on iPlayer though?

The shows will be appearing on iTunes 8 days after broadcast.

Unreal as if the corporation are not taking the british public for mugs as it is. Sorry as far as i can see if you log into itunes or whatever the apple thing is from a UK email address then you shouldn't have to pay. Things like this really **** me off and before someone asks yes i am one of the people that would be happy to do away with the bbc.

You have the free option of iPlayer.

Are they selling them on ITMS globally or just the UK site? If not the US one, I still have no way of legally viewing this content soon after broadcast.

I suppose I could spoof / my IP to be a UK one through a proxy site but still a palava. How many episodes 8 a season that makes sixteen quid. I'd prefer to save them and buy the DVDs instead.

Ok. This is BBC Worldwide. You have always had to pay to own BBC content. It may not be good value but the concept itself in fine. You had to buy DVD's and this is no different.

The patten goes BBC TV > iPlayer > iTunes > DVD. It will eventually be on the US iTunes too.

That article is also written in a way that designed to annoy people, they clearly wanted to have a go at Apple and the BBC. I did like this comment from someone in Munich.

i play is last 7 days or so
u can download the iplayer content and store it for 30 days.

so after its been on tv and then iplayer u get the chance to get it via itunes

Why would they pay the extra charge if they don't have an internet connection to buy the programes from apple?
