Re: hacked router! help
what router?
you should be able to do a master reset to wipe all passwords and settings back to default.
usually involves holding the reset switch in for a while and maybe power cycling the router as you do it. you will need to check your manual for the proper method though.
As for Will and Cathy, find out who they are and report them to the police. Silly little immature prats!

Re: hacked router! help
Giving the make and model of the router will help Also a reset by holding the reset button in for a set amount of time while powering the router up normally takes it to factory settings again.

Re: hacked router! help
Hold the reset button for about 10 seconds, might do a factory reset (depends on the router). Otherwise, connect with a cable...
Also, MAC filtering is not secure. Not even slightly... Use WPA2 or WPA encryption if you can, WEP if your hardware doesn't support those.

Re: hacked router! help
And change the password for logging into the router as soon as you get access to it.

Re: hacked router! help
According to the manual for a similar model -
Quote:
Reset to factory Default
There are 2 methods to reset to default.
* Restore with RESET button
First, turn off the router and press the RESET button in. And then, power on the router and push the RESET button
down until the M1 and or M2 LED (or Status LED) start flashing, then remove the finger. If LED flashes about 8 times,
the RESTORE process is completed. However, if LED flashes 2 times, repeat.
* 2. Restore directly when the router power on
First, push the RESET button about 5 seconds (M1 will start flashing about 5 times), remove the finger
. The RESTORE process is completed.
