4 TB drive on horizon...
Hitachi have announced an advance in recording technology that could lead to 4TB capacity 3.5" drives & 1 TB 2.5" drives by 2009/2011...

To be honest, they're pretty good these days - and click of death was a term relating to Zip drives

I had 4 of the IBM drives, you were just waiting for the click of death and you didn't have to wait long. I didn't know at the time they were made by Hitachi otherwise I would never have bought them, I'd had too many bad experiences with their other consumer electronics previously.
