I dunno... Calling a channel "Virgin Woman" might get quite a few male viewers. Sitting there, *ahem* ready for action.

FTN=Virgin Mix/Virgin Extra maybe?
But i don't think VMTV will be renaming there channels soon. If they were i don't think they'd have changed the look of Virgin when they did.

Re: New names for Virgin TV Channels.
I think it would be better to have V instead of Virgin. It would then match with the names of the boxes Virgin Media give out. (V box and V+HD box).

Re: New names for Virgin TV Channels.
Virgin are 'revolutionising TV' with V Central. Why would they turn around and decide be a follower with self named TV channels. It would create a 'PR rubbing hands and laughing in an evil manner meeting' at bSkyb. Not to mention scrapping a brand that people watch and relate to on a daily basis. These channels are about the only thing stable within the Virgin Media enterprise, it would be a risky move to re-brand them only to devalue them in the future.

Re: New names for Virgin TV Channels.
Virgin One sounds good, but what about this :-
Sky takes it's name from where the channels come from. The programs are beamed down from the sky, so you get sky tv.
Why doesn't Virgin do the same thing and say the channels come from the ground. Call the channels Ground One and so on or they could call it Earth One.

I thought this was some kind of April fools joke type thread thing but since it's still continuing and getting worse I guess not. I mean, do you really expect a channel aimed at kids to be called Virgin Teens?

Re: New names for Virgin TV Channels.
Mmmm, Virgin Teens. PIN lock and £5-a-night to watch that channel then?
In all seriousness, I will be very surprised if they have not thought about it, and in time I reckon they will do it. VM clearly has aspirations to be a pay-TV provider with national reach and brand recognition, which is why they are launching Freeview boxes (and it's a dead cert that each box will have a card slot for future delivery of extras).
As for why they didn't do it before - well, this time last year the channels were owned by Telewest, who as a modest-sized cableco had nothing to gain by pushing its brand in that way. NTL, in true short-sighted NTL fashion, spent months trying to get Telewest to sell the channels as a condition of the merger, so it was hardly likely to be a priority for the merged company.
But with Mr Branson now on board (and believe me, I know for a fact that his denim-clad, laid-back emissaries of all things informal and beardy are crawling all over the VM operation, trying to infuse it with their master's unique corporate values), and with the company in a long-term war of attrition with Sky, the Flextech channels have just become an extremely important strategic asset.
It would be difficult for Sky to muck up the EPG were VM to demand the channels be re-named, as VM has paid for the channels to be there and will have a legally binding service agreement with Sky that is bound to cover such things (the UKTV channels subtly altered their names in the recent past, which Sky didn't seem to have any problems with).
They may not go so far as a full-on renaming spree, but references to Virgin in continuity announcements, altered station ident logos, and perhaps new names for some of the channels - I think we can count on it. And if they don't resolve the issue with Sky One etc soon, I think we may see it sooner than later.

neither teens nor kids would be appropriate its an enetrtainment channel aimed at young people not kids or teens - thats why trouble was moved to the entertainment section of skys/vms epg from the kids section...trouble imo is very much like abc1 or a bit like a cross between five and paramount comedy - (a lot of stuff on five and paramount comedy is on trouble as well)
in terms of the other channels yes i think a couple of channels could do with a name change, living and bravo though i think should stay the same, everyone knows those channels by name and they are increases in popularity and viewers so why change a winning formula
