Well not really, if you're paying a company for a service, and what you wanted is no longer offered then there are two choices - either get the service elsewhere, or don't get the service but also don't pay out as much money for it. Whether the latter can be done via a deal with VM, or only by cancelling, is the question here.

I'm against VM given out discounts on a personal basis as it only rewards those who complain, but I don't think the notion of a company giving a discount for a reduced service is barmy...

Re: Deals & discounts

We rang up to pay the bill, asked about the Sky deal and they gave us Large TV for no extra cost (were on Starter before apparently).

Shame they didn't cut anything off the bill though, money is tight recently

Jesus what package was that? £49.50 x 2 = £99

Oh have you all read (taken from http://allyours.virginmedia.com/fairplay/faq.html) fairplay to VM

Can I cancel my contract?
At Virgin Media we're all about being honest and doing the right thing.

So, even if we've done everything we can to persuade our TV customers to stay, and they still want to disconnect their TV service, then we're not going to hold them to their 12 month contract. We'll allow them to cancel at any time up to the end of March although they need to give us 30 days notice. This commitment will not impact our contractual rights to recover any outstanding arrears owing at the time of cancellation.

Re: Deals & discounts

Loosing channels is annoying enough for those that watched them, but to be honest what is even more annoying is being in an analogue only service area and all these so called "improvements" won't do a single thing for you because they are digital!!!

Here's a thought..... use some of these "savings" to upgrade the analogue areas so you can compete for the digital customers here as well rather than hand them over on a plate??
