£50 to disconect

Hi all new here..

just wondering if anyone can tell me why i have to pay £50 to have my virgin internet cut off, im sure when i joined virgin it was without a contract...and the reason i want to leave is because i play alot of games online and its impossible to play with 500 ping on us servers and 300 ping on eu server anytime on weekends and after 6 on weekdays!

so anyone know why i have to pay this, and if i can get out of paying it?

Did you join while it was still NTL as I would expect you are paying as you are on a 12 month contract up till September.
